Terms and conditions

These terms govern your use of the Vernier website, consultations, bookings, referral programme and purchases of Aliquot products. By using the site, creating an account, booking a consultation or placing an order, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. Who we are

Vernier ("we", "us", "our") provides cosmetic skin consultations, skin reports and skincare products. Skin analysis is performed through our partner platform at precisleyskin.com, which has its own terms that apply to your use of that service.

2. Not medical advice

Our consultations, skin reports, recommendations and website content are cosmetic in nature and provided for general information only. They are not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and do not create a doctor–patient relationship. Always seek advice from a qualified medical practitioner or dermatologist about any skin condition, and before starting any new skincare regimen if you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication or under medical care. Never disregard professional medical advice because of something you read or were told by us.

3. No guaranteed results

Skin varies from person to person. While we tailor recommendations to your assessment, we do not warrant or guarantee any particular outcome, improvement or timeframe from following a recommended routine or using any product. Any examples or testimonials shown are illustrative only.

4. Bookings and consultations

Consultations and scans are free to book. You may cancel or reschedule from your account page before your appointment time. We may confirm, reschedule or cancel bookings where reasonably necessary and will notify you using the contact details you provided. Repeated no-shows may result in restrictions on future bookings. Consultations may be declined or ended where a customer is abusive, or where we believe the consultation is being used for a purpose other than skincare advice.

5. Orders, pricing and payment

Product prices are shown in Australian dollars and may change at any time before an order is confirmed. An order is an offer to purchase; we may decline or cancel an order (for example, where a product is unavailable or a price was displayed in error) and will refund any payment taken. Orders are payable when collected or before dispatch, as advised at the time. Risk in products passes to you on delivery or collection.

6. Using products safely

Always patch test new products, follow the usage directions, and stop use if irritation occurs. Tell us during your consultation if you are pregnant, nursing, have allergies or are taking medication. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for adverse reactions resulting from failure to follow directions, undisclosed allergies or medical conditions, or use of products other than as directed.

7. Your account

You must provide accurate information and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend or close accounts that are misused, used fraudulently, or used in breach of these terms.

8. Referral programme

Approved partners may share referral links and submit leads. Commissions are tracked in the partner portal and are payable only on converted leads as recorded in our system, at the commission amount shown at the time. We may withhold or reverse commissions for duplicate, fraudulent, self-referred or cancelled leads, and may suspend partners who misuse the programme. Commission records in our system are final in the absence of manifest error.

9. Acceptable use

You must not misuse the site, attempt to access data belonging to others, scrape or copy the site at scale, interfere with its operation, or use it for anything unlawful. We may restrict access to protect the site and other users.

10. Intellectual property

All content on this site — including the Vernier and Aliquot names, logos, text, imagery and design — is owned by or licensed to us and protected by law. You may not copy, reproduce or use it without our written permission, except for personal, non-commercial use of the site as intended.

11. Privacy

We handle personal information, including skin photos and health-related answers you choose to provide, as described in our privacy policy. By using the site you consent to that handling.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties and are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, loss of profits, or loss of data arising from your use of the site, a consultation, a recommendation or a product. Where liability cannot be excluded (including under the Australian Consumer Law), it is limited, at our option, to resupplying the relevant service or product, or paying the cost of resupply. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

13. Indemnity

You indemnify us against claims, losses and expenses arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the site, or information you provide that is inaccurate or misleading.

14. Third-party services

The site links to and relies on third-party services (including precisleyskin.com and video-call providers). We are not responsible for their content, availability or conduct, and your use of them is governed by their own terms.

15. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always on this page, and continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and the courts of Queensland have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
